Job Title: Quantity SurveyorLocation: Milton KeynesSalary: £36,000-£58,000 DOE + Car Allowance.Job type: Full-time, Permanent.Walker Construction is a multi-disciplined construction and civil engineering company operating throughout the UK, due to our continued growth, an exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our Construction/Civils Division in Buckinghamshire.The Role:You will be responsible for estimating, surveying, cost planning and commercial management throughout the entire life cycle of the project from inception to post-completion. You will provide advice and guidance to the team and assist the Managing Surveyor with review and authorisation of Sub Contract orders and payments.Your duties will include: Handling inbound calls and directing patients to the most appropriate pathway.Data input and general administration tasks to support our clinical team.Making outbound calls.Booking appointments.Front of house reception.Other duties include:Preparation and prompt submission of interim and final accounts in accordance with Contract Terms and Conditions.Manage day to day commercial and contract activities.Sub-contract procurement ensuring maximum value for money.Sub-contract valuations and final accounts & oversee and check Project QS and Assistant QS valuation submissions.Robust knowledge of NEC 3 and JCT Conditions of Contract.Preparation of Compensation Events/variations (depending on form of contract) & oversee and check Project QS and Assistant QS submissions.Contractual correspondence.Commercial reporting & review and verification of accurate PQS & AQS Commercial Reports, as necessary.Procurement of professional services for design etc.Ability to undertake site measures when required.Explore the contract for opportunities and entitlements.Work closely with site management teams to ensure contract objectives and margins are met.Be able to work clearly and accurately under pressure and tight timescales.Be able to think logically and laterally.Ability to demonstrate excellent communication and organisational skills of own work and work of personnel under their direction.Key skills required:Sub-contract procurement.Contract Preparation.Collaborative working.Project Co-ordination.Methodical.Good knowledge of construction.Excellent problem solving skills.Good financial and numeracy management skills.Excellent communication and negotiating skills.The ability to absorb complex information and assess requirements readily.A clear understanding of HSE building regulations and legal guidelines.Show ability to organise others and set clear objectives and targets.Be able to mentor and train less experienced staff and maximise their development potential.Candidate Requirements:You will hold a relevant professional Quantity Surveying qualification and/or have a minimum five years management experience within the construction industry.Benefits:In return, we offer a competitive salary DOE, company car/allowance, 21 days holiday plus bank holidays, long service and holiday purchase scheme, auto enrolment company pension scheme, life and critical insurance along with other benefits.Please click on the APPLY button to send your CV for this role.
