Mobile Software Engineering Lead (Senior Manager)Location: London or Edinburgh (1-2 days per week in the office and the rest hybrid working from home). You'll be inspiring and customer-obsessed, ensuring that the team are always focused on the priorities that will deliver the best outcomes for our customers and colleagues.What you'll be responsible for?We are looking for an Engineering Lead to build and manage a team in the creation of a new mobile offering. You'll be working alongside a Product Owner to shape the vision for your workstreams, set direction for the engineering teams and lead technical delivery across the entire lifecycle, from idea to realisation of value.Your team will understand the needs of the client, then design and develop solutions to meet these needs. You'll own the development of engineering skills and ways of working for the future - alongside a challenging delivery agenda of course!You'll work with your team to increase engineering efficiency, quality and release velocity whilst recruiting, retaining, and developing engineering talent within the Lab. You'll be responsible for a fairly large team of up to 20 Android and iOS software engineers, working cross functionally with a range of other engineering teams. You'll focus on leadership 90% of the time, only dipping into being hands on as needed to support your Engineers.What do we need to see in your application?We like people who come from diverse industry and cultural backgrounds but as a minimum to be successful in the role and secure an interview we would need to see evidence of the following in your CV;Experience working as a Mobile Engineering Senior Manager or someone who has been acting up into a senior management role and ready to take the leap. Proven track record creating mobile applications, able to share experience of development approach, tooling, security, and application managementStrong people leadership skills.
