WHAT TO EXPECT

JLR aspires to Virtual Tools led Engineering. At Over 30,000 Cores we have one of the largest High Performance Computing centres and increasingly Global IT spread across India, China, Europe and Brazil. We invest continuously and heavily in both IT Hardware and in the development of new tools and techniques to keep us on the cutting edge of simulation. We are looking for Senior Leaders in Virtual Engineering to join us and lead vehicle or system programmes with concept simulation, modelling expertise and tools from research thru to the delivery phase to JOB1.



Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities


* Support development of Automotive Components/Systems using engineering knowledge and experience combined with Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) techniques, to meet NVH & Dynamics performance targets.
Run CAE analysis, summarise results and feedback conclusions to the component Lead Engineers in an efficient manner.Able to work effectively with design teams to develop and optimise solutions considering multi-attributes within defined deadlines and time constraints. Have some product knowledge and awareness of potential design constraints (packaging, manufacturing etc.) and ensure due consideration is given in developing solutions.Feedback of results as required through design / project reviews. * Support and present at design reviews with key stakeholders: COC component design teams, PAT teams, packaging teams, JLR Programme teams
* Liaise with all internal customers of our business as well as offshore operations where necessary.
* Support the continual development of tools and techniques which enhance capability, improve quality and robustness of Virtual models.



WHAT YOU NEED

Knowledge and experience

Relevant degree or equivalent experience preferredWorking knowledge of CAE methodologiesPrevious experience and background in automotive structural development.Previous experience of component/system level development using CAE to meet defined performance targetsCompetent in the use of:OptistructHyperworksOptimisation techniquesMS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint.)Experience in proposing product modifications to improve design.

Desirable:
Experience in continuous improvements to business processes to support customer service and financial objectivesPrevious experience and background in an (automotive) body structures function or similar.Experience of JLR working practices relating to CAE methods and processesPost-concept (Virtual Series) experience working in NVH and/or Durability and/or Safety attributesFamiliarity and experience of JLR PLM systemsExperience of JLR IT systemExperience of JLR Virtual Series process and alignment to PCDSv4Experience working on recent MLA projects
