We have an extremely exciting opportunity for a Senior ICT Engineer/Designer who specialises in Early Life Support to work in our Digital Services, ICT Service Transition team.

The role of Service Transition is to move services and service changes into operational use. They ensure that new or changed services work effectively with all the knowledge and information, tools and processes required to support the service. 

Early Life Support is a key element of Service Transition, as it is the phase of projects where we work together across Design & Operate, learning to support and maintain new services, and monitoring them against their required performance. 

The key responsibilities of the Early Life Support Manager are 

Process ownership, including the Policy, Process, CSFs & KPIs, annual process reviews, Process Maturity assessment. 

Drive and embed the ELS culture across ICT. 

Facilitate engagement across the ICT teams to discuss that a service in ELS is technically and operationally ready to be supported by ICT Operate. 

Monitor during ELS that system / application performance and ITSM (incidents, problems, tasks) data is captured and recorded correctly. 

Manage incidents during ELS of all priorities accordingly and monitor SLAs. 

Management of ELS teams during the ELS period. 

Co-ordination of ELS champions. 

Assure that production support and security processes are correctly defined so that they can be followed in practice. 

Assure connectivity and integrations with other IT services are assessed. 

Ensure that all required support information is available and updated throughout ELS for ICT Operate staff to follow. 

Confirm that supplier support processes are in place and operating within their SLA boundaries. 

Assure that the New or Changed service is performing as expected and help to assess the FTE required to support going forward. 

Enable sufficient information to be collated to make an accurate assessment as to whether a service is ready to be passed into live operations. 

Provide defined reports during ELS. 

Arranging and chairing ELS meetings for ELS team members and key stakeholders. 

Regular qualitative and quantitative reports to stakeholders through each period of ELS.  

The role is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious candidate with excellent ITIL knowledge who has ideally worked in a Service Transition role previously and has a large breadth of ICT experience.
