As a Software Engineering within our Retirements Lab Engineering Team, you'll deliver the highest quality customer driven software. You'll work in cross-disciplinary teams delivering these solutions, showcasing excellent interpersonal and communication skills whilst efficiently working across the project lifecycle to ensure software operates as intended. Here's where you'll make a difference…You'll be writing modular, well tested Node.js applicationsYou'll contribute to the strategic direction for how Node.js applications are developed within the teamYou'll Ensure that software is built in a way which is consistent with - and exploits where possible - the collective frameworks, patterns and practices that exist across the wider Engineering communityWe're looking for you to understand and apply industry innovations and foster collaboration to provide solutions for complex business problems where no precedent may exist, and ensure implementation of solutions where appropriateYou'll have a committed focus on delivering business value through sound software engineering methods and principles What we need from you…You'll have strong professional experience with Node.js and frameworks such as StrongLoop and ExpressJS and be highly proficient in JavaScriptYou'll have a deep understanding of Git, source code management and managing changeYOu'll have the ability to work with front end engineers to develop server side logic and with a broad understanding of RESTful APIs and web services together with expertise in integrating with multiple & dynamic technologiesYou'll know about agile development practices, continuous integration and test automation (TDD, BDD, Selenium)You'll also have some Expertise in multi-threading and asynchronous programming techniques along with an understanding of how to design low-latency, high-availability and performant applications Join us and be part of an inclusive, values-led culture that celebrates diversity, equal opportunity and provides opportunities for flexible working.
