Outside IR35 - Remote / Hybrid working - £400-£450 per day IC Resources is working with a cutting edge consumer electronics developer that are working on the latest Wireless communications and Radio frequency protocol stacks and have tasked me with finding them a firmware engineer for an initial 6 month engagement. As the right engineer you will have experience with production grade firmware in C/C++, some python scripting for test, wireshark for analysis and an understanding of a range of Radio protocol stacks with a key focus on ZigBee, Thread and 802.15.4. Preferably you will also have an in-depth knowledge of networking protocols such as IPv4 (any awareness of IPv6 would be particularly advantageous), DHCP, DNS and encryption libraries. This contract has been determined as Outside of IR35 and the client are able to offer remote working for the right candidate. Essential skills:
Experience of making mass market products in a commercial settingDevelopment of production grade C & C++ firmware (5yr+)Some practical use of Python (either work or hobby development in spare time)A good understanding of IP Networking1st or 2:1 degree (or equivalent) in Electronics or Computing subject or demonstrably excellent technical skills and knowledgeLinux as a development environmentExcellent communication and team working skillsPrevious experience using GitDesirable skills:
