We are seeking to appoint a Cyber Security Programming Technical Instructor to join the Faculty of Environment and Technology as a member of the Learning Support Team, which is a group of enthusiastic technicians giving support and instruction in a broad range of digital skills.

You will provide specialist technical support, preparation of learning materials, front of class instruction, and one-to-one tuition to students learning various programming languages, with an emphasis on Python. The role primarily supports students and staff in the Department of Computer Science and Technology.

About You          

To be successful in the role, you will be able to simply communicate complex information. You should be confident delivering instruction within taught sessions and small group tutorials. The role will work closely with academic colleagues to inform the practical/applied curriculum surrounding different programming languages. You will be adept in the use of Python for data manipulation, and ideally be able to use multiple programming languages. You will also be proficient in setting up virtual machines for remote use.

You will have experience of working in a technical environment and have a proven ability to give instruction/coaching to novices. You must be able to communicate clearly and manage your own time well in a busy environment. You should have a degree, technical qualification or equivalent experience in a relevant discipline.
