Location   Multi-location from one of our FSA Offices (Belfast, Cardiff, Birmingham, London or York), or home based in the UK. Please be aware that this role can only be worked within the UK and not overseas. Travel across the UK will be required on an occasional basis, possibly with overnight stays. Job description Working across the broad spectrum of food and feed safety issues that impact consumers and businesses alike, the FSA is always seeking to utilise the very best opportunities that new technologies afford us.

We are looking for a Software Developer to join our Data team and contribute to the development and continuous improvement of the FSA's digital services. You will be involved in the full development lifecycle - from engaging stakeholders to understand their needs and concerns, through to planning, prototyping, developing and testing solutions, ensuring the produced code is high-quality, and the applications are robust and resilient.

You will work in a supportive, multi-disciplinary team and gain experience in a wide range of technologies including JavaScript, C#, python and Azure.

Key projects are likely to include working on FSA flagship services, such as food.gov.uk and Food Hygiene Ratings Scheme (FHRS) as well as being involved in the internal projects, API development and productionalising solutions. Organisational skills will be paramount as you seek to manage various different priorities. You'll also need to communicate effectively with colleagues, stakeholders and supplier alike to deliver end to end digital services, ensuring they meet the requirements.
