Due to new scientific projects and expanding our Projects team, we are looking for a PMO to join a small, but growing and evolving transnational team. This role reports hierarchically to the Head of PMO for Earth Observation and Science (EOS) and is functionally embedded within the assigned project. Earth Observation and Science (EOS) delivers some of the most challenging and exciting projects in Space Systems. At its heart and on the forefront of technology are the instrument projects that continue to deliver internationally recognised sector leading solutions. These projects offer a challenging, dynamic, and high paced environment where a strong Project Management Team is key to success. Within this team and in order to meet these challenges, the Project Management Office Manager (PMO Manager) is a key role empowered as a co-pilot to the Project Manager, to proactively drive the different Project Management processes.    This includes the various PM disciplines such as: Project governance and communication Integrated planning Risk and opportunity management Preparation of reviews Internal and external reporting Project Management data  This role will suite someone who has some PMO experience and is keen to learn more about Project Management and progress within the Project Management career path, such as: Project Management Industrial Management Project Operations This role comes with occasional UK and international travel. Responsibilities include (shared with the rest of the PMO team): Maintain the Project Management Plan and ensure the programme's adherence to this plan Manage the Project Management digital ecosystem to operate the programme Prepare and facilitate meetings and support preparation of milestones Support the Project Manager in planning and preparing Maturity Gates Maintain the programme's action register and drive the timely closure of actions Coordinate preparation of reports in various formats for both internal and external customers Ensures consistency among all contractual, financial and technical requirements and coverage in the Project Management Plan (in close cooperation with the Project Controller, Customer Contract Manager and Technical Manager) Maintain the programme's integrated plan in the appropriate toolset (e.g. Unified Planning), embedding inputs from all contributing stakeholders Identify, track and communicate the programme's critical path, proposing measures to shorten it Track programme progress and provide visualization and early warning of potential issues to allow for early mitigation, anticipation and data-driven decisions Maintain the Risk and Opportunity (R&O) Management Plan of the programme Maintain the R&O register, including the facilitation of capture and assessment of risks and opportunities Drive the definition and follow-up of R&O mitigation actions Proactively seek out and implement improvements in your way of working, and in the overall execution of the programme Support project's improvement governance and contribute to the achievement of its improvement objectives Production of Project History Report (yearly) Support to the Sales and Operations Planning process, to ensure consistency between the functions needs and project budget Champion PMO methodologies within the wider community Requirements: Educated to degree level in Engineering or Business Administration or with similar experience. Previous experience in leading projects or as a PMO is highly sought Experience in managing / working with a project schedule desired Experience in managing risks and opportunities, either as a risk manager or a project member desired PMI Certified is preferred. Excellent communication and facilitation skills Ability to work across functions, and to influence and persuade programme stakeholders amid conflicting priorities Experience with typical office applications and generally well-versed in digital tools Experience in standard scheduling tools (e.g. Unified Planning, MS Project, Primavera) desired Experience working in international teams and environments Fluency in English in mandatory Many of our staff work flexibly in many different ways.
