Functieomschrijving We are looking for an Export Control Officer to join Airbus Defence & Space in Portsmouth. You will join our growing Export Control team and report to the Head of Export Control UK. Overview You will help to develop the understanding and the importance of Export Control bringing a competitive advantage to the company whilst also mitigating any further exposure to penalties, consent agreements, debarment etc. This is a hybrid role with the office being based in Portsmouth, it is usually a 60/40 mix, depending on the business needs
There may also be occasional requirements for business travel within the UK and abroad.  You will need to be eligible to gain UK SC Security Clearance. Tasks & Responsibilities Your main responsibilities with be to support all Defence and Space programmes on both a national and transnational basis
Liaising with business focal points, you will identify and manage export control risks to ensure all impacted activities are conducted in a compliant manner whilst minimising delivery delays and preventing additional costs being incurred.
Other duties include Collaboration with the Airbus Export Control Programme Office  Continuous monitoring and improvement of local processes and work instructions will ensure the companies compliance with all applicable export control laws and regulations. Contributing, supporting and delivering export control training within both the virtual classroom and face to face environments across the UK sites  Implementing export control and technology control plans across the projects and programmes, within your area of responsibility, you will actively support their compliance minimising delivery delays and preventing additional costs. Responsibility for all export licencing activity within your allocated area Briefing projects and programmes on the export licences applicable to their activity  Undertaking periodic internal compliance checks Reporting on company KPIs and producing annual governmental returns  Coordinating and supporting compliance visits as well as both internal and external audits, relating to export control topics Skills and Experience Required It is essential that you have some knowledge of ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) and EAR (Export Administration Regulations) to be considered for this role. You don't necessarily need to be an expert as training will be given in some areas, however you will need a basic understanding 
Other areas include: Experience working on international trade and export control topics within a multinational environment is also required As is knowledge and experience of managing UK, EU and US export control regulations within an operational environment Oh, and if you have a defence background, even better (but don't let this put you off if you don't!)
