Technical Product Manager and Solutions Engineer

Reporting to the CEO.

You will be an experienced Telecoms engineer, with experience of installation and configuration of telecoms products, looking to move into a broader and potentially more commercial role.

You will take pride in doing a professional job but be pragmatic enough to realise that things are not always perfect, but will enjoy the challenge of getting them over the line. You will have good attention to detail, good organisational skills, and the ability to deal with people at all levels within a business.

This is a hybrid role involving traditional product management, technical project validation, and pre sales support.

As a Product Manager, You will be tasked initially with the productisation of products and services initially identified by the senior product manager and CEO, but later bringing ideas of your own to the table.

You will be responsible for checking the commercial proposition of the new product or service, making recommendations on the method and range of pricing for the item, equipping the sales force to enable it to sell the product, by assisting them with product positioning information, collateral and training, and also ensuring that the Support side of the organisation have all of the support contacts, escalation points, and training that they need to be able to support the product.

As a Technical Project Validator, you will be responsible for ensuring that prospective projects are technically validated at the beginning of the project, and any missed issues expedited and resolved, so that at the point of implementation, everything runs smoothly. Your telecoms engineering or networking skills will come in to play at this point.

As a Pre Sales Support (this typically runs in tandem with the Technical Project Validation) you will be responsible for providing technical expertise in conjunction with and in support of the sales team, and assisting in the provision of demonstrations and site surveys/assessments.

Particular attention to process workflow across all three functions of this hybrid role is important, as new products and services may impact the process workflow in all three areas and an important part of the productisation of the product or service will be in offering suggestions as to how workflow may have to change to reflect the new offerings.
