Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer - Composites (Aerospace/Manufacturing)Location: India Mill, DarwenSalary: £40,000 and £45,000 based on skills, experience, and any relevant qualifications.Job type: Permanent, Full time, 37 hours per week over a 4-day week, Monday to Thursday.Brookhouse Aerospace is a well-known and respected name in the Aerospace Industry currently in its 71st year, and during this time, the business has seen many positive changes following an MBO in 2021 from Kaman UK.We offer a range of capabilities, including manufacturing composite components, metallics, sheet metalwork, fabrication, machining and treatments.We are approved and certified for JOSCAR, AS 9100 and NADCAP certificated and are approved Tier 1 and 2 suppliers to the Aerospace and Defence manufacturers in the UK and internationally, such as Airbus, BAE, MBDA, Rolls Royce, Safran and Spirit.The role: We are currently looking for a highly experienced Manufacturing Engineer in Composites with at least five years of working experience within an aerospace/manufacturing environment.Manufacturing Engineers work closely within a cross-functional value stream to help support the ongoing operations of the business in rate production and NPI.They will support the engineering function within the production cell and help to develop the process with technical solutions including material management to achieve compliant parts.Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities: Work closely with the Team to maintain consistency in terms of rate production across the projects within the businessLead / Facilitate complex problem identification, containment, and resolutionCreate and implement action plans to rectify localised and systematic process breakdownsHelp design, implement, and analyse new composite manufacturing processes, following a review of current processes, to identify risk and implement improvement plansDevelop and support project-wide process manufacturing documentation for production activities, including preparation of Manufacturing Planning, Test Procedures, Manufacturing Procedures, and Quality Planning Control Plan.Support ongoing Test AnalysisAssist in the development and facilitation of Process FMEAs and help maintain risk management policies and programsSupport the design change management process by reviewing and approving engineering orders and drawings for technical requirements and process adherenceSupport Critical Design Reviews (CDR)Report results from product and process yield metrics to engineering and senior management to encourage design/industrialisation for manufacturability and qualityThe Candidate: EPICOR Experience (Desirable)3D Models InterpretationPly Cutting and Ply ProjectionFAIRS (First Article Inspection)Time served in an Engineering/Technical Field or comparable experienceWork experience in production/manufacturing environmentExcellent communication skills, both written and verbalComputer Literate with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applicationsWorking pattern: 4-day week Monday to Thursday 07:15 am to 5:00 pm totaling 37 hours weekly.Benefits:Holidays start at 33 days per year (including Bank Holidays) pro rata for 4 days (28).On-site - Occupational HealthEmployee Referral SchemeCorporate Simplyhealth Cash Plan (Benefit in Kind)Life Insurance x 2Currently sourcing a subsidised onsite canteenPlease click on the APPLY button to send your CV and Cover Letter for this role.Candidates with the relevant experience or job titles of: Manufacturing Operative, Manufacturing Engineer, Production Operative, Production Technician, Machine Operative, Process Operator, Production Engineer, CNC Programmer, CNC Operative, Machine Operator may also be considered for this role.
