About the role

Our successful candidate will provide 2nd and some 3rd line support to Shelter's end user environment, ensuring all reported incidents and service requests are resolved professionally within agreed SLA and that users are kept fully updated on progress, while ensuring all actions are accurately recorded within the Service Management software.

We will also count on you to ensure Shelter's desktop assets are proactively maintained and supported, and to monitor and identify incidents of a similar nature, making recommendations to reduce likelihood or impact reoccurrence.  Actively participating in the successful delivery of the IT Operations workplan - supporting the successful implementation of projects managed within the Business Enablement team, is also a key element of this role, as is addressing and identifying working processes, policy improvements and proposed changes to IT Operations.  You will also be expected to performing on-site visits to offices and shops around the country to resolve technical incidents or upgrade and maintain equipment, where necessary overnight stays will required.

About you

Alongside your significant experience of providing 2nd and 3rd line support across a large multi-site organisation and explaining highly complex technical issues to a non-technical audience, you will have a strong understanding and awareness of Incident Management techniques and excellent customer service, with the ability to work as part of a team.  A natural and confident communicator, with excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritise effectively, you must also have an eagerness to learn new skills and invest in personal development, while a professional, flexible and collaborative approach to your work is also vital.
