An exciting secondment opportunity for up to 18 months in South Wales Police with the creation of a brand-new team to be at the forefront of shaping policing's adoption of emerging biometrics. We are looking for a dynamic team of specialists, supported by agile working for the National Biometrics Function (NBF) The specialist team will support the review, design and develop proposals for a cohesive UK law enforcement capability for biometrics with specific emphasis on emerging biometrics and the evolution of traditional structures.

Initially focusing on assisting Forces to deliver Retrospective Facial Recognition (RFR) by supporting local and regional implementation teams to achieve the considerable operational benefits and financial efficiencies from this using this technology. This specialist team will also provide a coordination function to support the NPCC National Biometrics Strategy Board, its programme as well as subsidiary Committee structures.

Biometrics Capability Benefits Analyst and Project Support Officer - 6/SO1 (£26,865)

To provide dynamic advisory and support service in the National Biometrics Function including business benefit and project management support.

The successful candidate will be educated to degree level and have a sound knowledge of applying statistical models and techniques.

This role is suitable for part time/job share workers 

The successful Candidate must be willing to undergo vetting to MV/SC Vetting.

Please be aware that if your current post is within the Public Service Centre, if you were employed after 1st February 2017 you must have completed 2 years' tenured service before applying for any other roles.
