This award-winning company specialise in the design, installation and maintenance of commercial Solar PV, Battery Storage and EV charging projects across the UK. They are industry leaders within the UK Solar sector and have thrived in recent years, and as a result they are now looking to rapidly expand their design team to facilitate the success of their ever-growing portfolio of projects.

In this role, the Electrical Design Engineer will be responsible for the design of large-scale renewable projects, including Solar PV, EV charging and Battery Storage, from inception to completion. This will include working with the BDM team to win projects through bid-stage, travelling to site to meet with clients and survey property / land, cooperating with the install and operations team through construction and commissioning, being a technical point of contact for projects and supporting more junior members of the team.

The ideal candidate will be an Electrical Design Engineer with experience of designing commercial scale electrical projects. Any experience of designing Solar PV design is advantageous but Training will be provided on solar PV, but candidates must be eager to learn, and be willing to lead on projects with little support once trained. Experience using AutoCAD is essential, and you must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

The Role:

*Electrical design of commercial large-scale Solar PV, Battery Storage and EV charging projects

*Work alongside BDM team through bid stage to win projects

*Identify any potential areas of risk

*Cooperate with Install and Operations team through construction and commissioning stage, ensuring projects are completed to design specification and answering any queries

*Liaise with senior clients and stakeholders throughout project lifecycle, ensuring project meeting their requirements

*Travel to sites nationwide to meet with clients and carry out surveys

*Predominantly office based (1-2 days WFH per week after training)

The Person:

*Strong background in LV electrical design within the commercial sector

*A degree in Electrical Engineering or a relevant engineering subject

*Ability to lead on projects, delegate tasks and support other team members

*Proven experience using AutoCAD (PVSyst / PVSol would be advantageous)

*Excellent written and verbal communication skills

*Commutable to Chesterfield (or willing to relocate)

*Full UK Driving License
