We are looking to recruit a GIS, Research and Monitoring Officer to provide technical expertise to facilitate the Trust's research and monitoring programme.

This role provides the critical underlying support to many of the Trust's data collection and monitoring systems. You will work across different departments to assist in meeting their data needs and ensuring sufficient data is captured to measure the Trust's progress towards the 30 by 30 and 1 in 4 objectives. The successful candidate will demonstrate they have excellent attention to detail, creativity to design innovative data systems and the initiative to independently troubleshoot issues.

You will also work closely with our university partners and continue the success of our research prospectus programme, maintaining an intake of students each year to conduct important research for the Trust. This requires strong communication and organisational skills to ensure that deadlines are met and appropriate equipment and training are available.

You must have previous experience of working with GIS and data, matched with an ability for science communication to both academic and non-academic audiences, and the ability to work with a wide range of people.

Our hybrid working policy aims to provide a good work/life balance which can incorporate partial home working whilst having an interesting and challenging working environment. Our office bases are in Pirbright, Pond Farm (Wisley) and Nower Wood (Letherhead); travel across Surrey will be a necessary part of the role, visiting sites, universities and attending events. A full driving licence is highly desirable as many locations cannot easily be accessed by public transport.
