Job Title: Vessel Refurbishment Technician

Reporting to: Workshop Manager

Location: Leyland, PR35

Salary: £13.62 p/h

Hours: 39-hour week

This Company is one of the UK's largest privately-owned industrial engineering companies and supports three subsidiary businesses; they provide engineering services to industry covering Machinery Installation and Relocation, Mechanical Engineering, Technical and Heavy Lifting, Vessel Refurbishment and Wind Turbine Generator Construction on a National & International scale.

They are looking for a driven individual to become a key part of their Vessel Refurbishment Division - 'VRF'.

Their VRF branch at Leyland offers a service that is unique in the group. This service forms part of a long-term contract relationship with one of the businesses most prized & valued clients.

About the role

Based at their purpose build site in Leyland Lancashire

Their primary job objective is to refurbish cryogenic tanks, vaporisers, liquid cylinders and associated ancillary equipment to a relevant BOC quality and safety standard. Whilst maintaining a high level of personal standards and health and safety standards.

- Demonstrates appropriate levels of behavioural safety and awareness

- Actively participates in all health and safety initiatives

- Maintains a clean, organised, and tidy environment

- Accurate record keeping and timesheet generation

- Works well within a team and is motivated to achieve and deliver a quality customer focused product

- Assists in the control of sub-contract labour attending site

About You

Preferred skill and experience:

- General mechanical knowledge

- Fabrication, pipe fitting and welding skills

- Able to safely handle liquid gases at cryogenic temperatures

- Knowledge of pressure testing

- Knowledge of the practicalities of refurbishment works and ability to fulfil task lists to an accurate standard

- Flexibility of skills and attitude to cater for any unexpected occurrences that may happen in a service led industry
