As a Network Engineer, you'll develop, support and manage network products and services deployed on behalf of the University Group ensuring they're efficient, secure, perform optimally and are aligned to business goals and objectives.

 RESPONSIBILITIES

The post holder is responsible for the maintenance of configuration data, capacity planning, service availability and continuity. They will adhere to service levels and all operational processes (such as incident, problem, change management processes) pertaining to network services.

Participates in continuous improvement analysis and design, as well as the development of network-based solutions.

Performs configurations, installations, monitoring and troubleshooting of network hardware (routers, switches, firewalls).

Performs security risk, vulnerability assessments, and business impact analysis. Investigates suspected attacks and manages security incidents

KEY SKILLS

Educated to degree level in a relevant discipline with a professional qualification or substantial experience in related field in lieu of the above.

Significant LAN/WAN infrastructure experience (qualified to CCNA, ideally to CCNP level).

Cyber-security within network technologies.

Cisco Catalyst experience essential, Nexus platforms advantageous.

CISCO ASA and Firepower firewalls experience essential, Palo Alto and FortiNet advantageous.
