Why work for one company when you can influence your entire sector for the better?

Our role is a great opportunity and a new and additional post for an experienced practitioner in the built environment (e.g. design, construction or concrete industry, civil/structural engineer, or construction manager, concrete contractor or main contractor) looking for their next career move within our leading UK Trade Association.

Within the post, you will have the chance to contribute to an essential industry critical to the UK construction and manufacturing sector.

Reporting to, and supported by, our Director responsible for this area, you will help delivering industry objectives for our Members. As an example, some of the core duties will involve:

- Developing best practice guidance to our Members relating to the use of ready-mixed concrete in housing, buildings and infrastructure.

- Developing and maintain contacts, such as developers, designers, contractors within the construction industry and enable them to benefit from the credentials of ready-mixed concrete.

- Engaging key stakeholders to understand their needs and develop and deliver the knowledge and guidance needed to enable their use of ready-mixed concrete, plus delivery of key projects that demonstrate the efficient and effective use of ready-mixed concrete in the built environment.

- Promoting ready-mixed concrete as a quality assured product and flexible construction solution.

That's just for starters! As with all of our roles, you certainly won't be short of interesting and varied work!

In all of this, you you will form part of a small but highly effective and agile team as well as work closely with our Member companies, central/devolved Government departments and the regulatory agencies.

What are we looking for in you in return?

- Experience in the built environment such as the design, construction or concrete industry for example a civil/structural engineer, or construction manager, concrete contractor or main contractor

- Experience of construction preferably in project delivery, management and procurement, plus an understanding of concrete technology and performance.

- Previous experience of industry committees and building consensus across multi-disciplined contributors, together with the ability to represent the concrete sector at a senior level to Government, industry and on national/international committees.

- Finally, a self-starter, who can self manage a workload independently, but also works closely and effectively with colleagues.

Time to change and influence your whole sector for the better? We'd love to hear from you.

Please note: Our offices are located in London and Leicester, but this is seen as a remote role as long as you have good access attend meetings when required. Travel will be involved as required, both within the UK to our Member locations and occasionally mainland Europe.
