Senior Data Engineer - £50,000 to £80,000 DOE - Remote/Glasgow/Manchester/London

Our client are a market leading Data Management, Analytics and BI consultancy who work with some of the worlds leading brands to optimise their data to gain deeper insights leveraging the latest technology to improve them as a business - this includes the biggest names in Financial Services and Banking.

They are looking to add to their Data Engineering team due to success and growth in demand in 2022, providing a great opportunity for Engineers to work across a variety of complex projects whilst picking up skills from changing technology stacks/landscapes.

You will develop your expertise in a variety of capabilities: Data Architecture, Solution Architecture, Data Strategy and Data Governance. In Data Engineering you also have the opportunity to work in technical delivery, technologies and concepts in areas such as Data Storage, Data Ingestion, Data Integration, Data Warehousing, Data Preparation and Cloud Infrastructure

Role & Responsibilities

  • The right candidate will be able to demonstrate ability and high level of knowledge on subject matter on projects with clients. This includes identifying problems, applying domain knowledge then taking steps to provide recommendation/solve the issue.
  • You will develop good working relationships with clients on a project. This includes presenting their deliverables to clients with confidence. The role holder must have the ability to challenge clients and colleagues around delivery approach or content of deliverable
  • It is expected as well that the role holder will have accountability for all / part of key deliverables or pieces of work this can include the deliverables and the quality produced by junior grades. But it will also contain understanding of risks associated with the individual's wor
  • The role holder will structure and deliver a high-quality piece of work and manage against a plan. This may mean that they have to communicate status and escalate problems to client / senior team members where necessar
  • The role holder is required to demonstrate an understanding and application of performance management and take an active role in feedback reviews. They are also required to understand individual development needs and put together action plan to improve

Skills & Qualifications

  • Skilled in Python or SQL
  • Strong experience developing and deploying in AWS, Azure or GCP
  • Experience working with one of Spark, Hadoop, Kafka, Snowflake, other emerging data technologies
