Data Engineer - 6 Month Contract - £400-500 Per Day Inside IR35 - Hybrid/Birmingham

Overview:
An exciting opportunity to join a multi-billion pound organisation within the transportation sector, you will be working on one of the largest railway projects in the UK to date. Our client is looking for a highly skilled Data Engineer to join on a 6 month rolling contract basis. You will be responsible for designing and leading the implementation of data flows to connect operational systems, providing data for analytics and business intelligence, and delivering BI reports and visualisations to ensure the effective use of valuable information and data throughout our clients organisation.

Role & Responsibilities:
·Overall accountability for the life-cycle of specific data engineering projects. This includes identifying a specific business need, data gathering, specifying requirements, determining the best tools, data and techniques to address it, undertake analysis, create reports, dashboards and presentations.
·Responsible for engaging with Product Owners, Information Asset Owners, IT and Business colleagues to elicit the underlying causes of business problems and inefficiencies, supporting their design objectives with clear insights.
·Responsible for inspiring best practice for data products and services within the team and across our client's organisation.
·Responsible for working with other team members and the Senior Data Analytics Manager to identify, plan, develop, and deliver data services.
·Accountable for designing, developing, and deploying information and data management process-flow systems through to implementation.
·Responsible for being up to date with progress Data Engineering and emerging technologies across Government.
·Responsible for developing Data Engineering models that can be re-used.
·Actively promote and embed Equality Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) in all your work, and support and comply with all organisational initiatives, policies and procedures on EDI.

Essential Skills & Experience:
·Knowledge of a range of cloud-based data analytics tools and technologies (e.g. SQL Server/SSIS/Azure Data Factory/Power BI/Tableau/Python).
·Knowledge of innovative data tools and how these can be applied.
·Experience of developing fit for purpose, resilient, scalable and future-proof data services to meet user needs.
·Experience of applying data engineering techniques.
·Experience of producing re-usable data models.
·Experience of producing business intelligence reports, data visualisations and analysis to deliver understanding of business data.

Package:
£400-500 per day inside IR35
6 month rolling contract
