What would you focus?

Our previous senior manager in this area has been promoted and we're looking for a new Senior Release Manager to run the Commercial Banking Online (CBO) Release and Implementation team.

We are looking for someone who can drive a culture of process improvement and empower our engineers to deliver a reliable service to our customers.

The core of your role will focus on ownership and management of the software release cycle, which we run using modern Agile DevOps methods and tools. You'll have a team of 7 direct reports which you'll manage to achieve this and also 15-20 indirect multi-disciplinary reports. Please note this is an IT release management role, not suitable for those who have solely focused on business implementation management.

We have a focus on continual improvement & development (CI/CD) which we live and breath, so would like to see you driving that approach. You'll also continue to develop our DevOps culture within the Lab.

You'll also be responsible for the management of infrastructure changes to support release management, input into architectural considerations and also responsible for the associated environment. This is a superb opportunity to work with an excellent team supporting and delivering change to the largest Digital bank in the UK; to work with ground-breaking tooling and technologies and be at the heart of crafting a fantastic team as we work towards an API/micro service led architecture.

What we'll be looking for in your application;

We like people who have come from diverse industry, cultural & technology backgrounds. As a minimum to be considered we'll need to see evidence of the following in your CV;

You'll have experience in previous roles operating at the same level of seniority, i.e. as a senior release manager successfully leading IT teams supporting enterprise scale, multi-tier applications.

You'll have proven experience of managing software release pipelines and implementation at an enterprise scale.

You'll have a passion and initiative to embedding a DevOps mindset into ways of working.

You'll have good team leading skills and enjoy developing staff.

Solid experience of Project / Release / Issue management environments & methodologies utilising a CI / CD pipeline

Desirable would be any of the following knowledge, but please apply if you have the essential points above even if you don't have the below;

Any exposure to IBM WebSphere, java and Oracle technologies would be an advantage.

Any past experience within Commercial Banking or Financial Services or other highly regulated environments.

A role within our team will provide an opportunity to work flexibly, develop personally and expertly and work collaboratively with an ambitious team to build our business and bring to life the Group Vision of Helping Britain Prosper. We're proud to be an equal opportunity employer and deeply value diversity within our organisation.
