Lead Electronics Design Engineer - Glasgow - Hybrid Working

A market leading medical technology company that develops, manufactures and markets their own medical device products and solutions is looking for a Lead Electronics Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis. This company is led by entrepreneurs who have a proven track record of building and growing medical device and health IT businesses. The company has main operations in the UK and US and is supported by a global sales team. In the last 8 years the company has grown to nearly 2,000 people.

For this position you will be responsible for not only technical guidance within the electronics engineering team but also providing leadership. You will be involved in the design, implementation and verification of their instrumentation platform.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage electronics engineers and work with project managers
• Meet project timelines and prepare project plans & timelines
• Create detailed design specifications from product requirements and prototype testing
• Prioritise workloads because on requirements across the design and development teams
• Create robust characterisation and test methods to set tolerance and limits on key technical blocks of the designs
• Provide innovative and robust design solutions to identified problem or high risk areas
• Review and critique electronics design solutions developed by other team members
• Ensure key functional technical blocks of the products are development and tested in a robust and rapid manner
• Ensure electronics components are designed and integrated into a robust solution, liaising with sub-contractors
• Close contact with manufacture and internal colleagues to transfer electronics product design to
• Develop and execute V&V for activities needed for electronics design specifications to be met
• Working with regulatory standards
• Working knowledge of risk analysis
• CE product marking

Essential requirements:

• 5+ years electronics design and development in embedded systems
• 2+ years in a senior engineering/leadership role
• Electronics Engineering Bachelor's degree or equivalent
