Take a high-calibre application development team to the next level.

We support hybrid working

The Insolvency Service is a leading Government agency that plays a crucial role in maintaining business confidence to power economic growth. Our 1,700 people across 22 offices support companies and citizens in financial distress, maximise returns to creditors and investigate any commercial misconduct, whilst safeguarding the interests of redundant employees. You can join us in our mission and enjoy a fast-moving career with exceptional rewards.

Our Application Services team is responsible for developing and maintaining a diverse range of business applications and harnessing cutting-edge technology to streamline our services and processes. You will take this high-performing unit to the next level as you set visionary strategies, proactively identify opportunities for transformation and change, and act as a bridge between technical and non-technical stakeholders. Demonstrating a real passion for professional development, you will provide every team member - from Technical Architects and Lead Developers to Product Managers and QT Leads - with expert advice and guidance as you refine techniques, champion best practice and solve complex high-risk challenges with imagination and insight.

Needless to say, you will be a confident decision-maker and leader with proven ability to see the big picture and think commercially as well as technically. Alongside an impressive record in software development, preferably using .NET and Microsoft technology, you should bring extensive experience of cloud transformations (ideally using Azure) and developing and improving services based on user needs. Familiarity with GOV.UK's Service Standard and the Technology Code of Practice would also be useful, but it's your ability to balance risk against rewards and translate needs into deliverables that will really set you apart.

In return, you can expect outstanding conditions of employment, including flexible working arrangements, 25 days' holiday (increasing to 30 days after five years), additional paid leave for learning, development and volunteering, a season ticket loan, generous parental leave, an employee assistance programme, a season ticket loan and membership of the Civil Service pension scheme.
