This is an exciting opportunity to join a specialist company in their respective industry, in an autonomous role where you will play a crucial part in the development of mechanical products, as well as mentoring a team of graduate engineers to enhance their capabilities.

On offer is a rare and exciting opportunity to lead a technical design team on bespoke industrial equipment. This role provides excellent accredited and industry training to become a technical expert and leader, with clear routes to progression to Principal Design roles.

This company has been well established for almost 2 decades, with outstanding growth over the years in an industry heavily funded by the government. This company specialises in the mechanical maintenance and design of mechanical machinery provided for the Railway and automotive industry.

In this role, you'll play a crucial part leading a team of engineers, reporting to the principal Mechanical Design Engineer. You will be working on a variety of projects in their industry, such as designing rail road machinery and commercial vehicles using 3D CAD Design packages and FEA software. You will also mentor a team of graduate engineers and have vital input into project management. This role is Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm.

*Lead Mechanical Design Engineer

*Designing new and existing road/rail/plant machinery and commercial vehicles.

*Excellent training and prospect for progression to senior roles.

The person:

*Previous Design Experience

*Automotive / Railroad / Machinery / Aeorspace background

*3D CAD & FEA software knowledge

*Full UK Driving license
