Our Manufacturing Intelligence division provides solutions that use data from design and engineering, production and metrology to make manufacturing smarter.ResponsibilitiesThe Senior DevOps Consultant will work directly with the Cloud Ops team and Product/Development team to ensure close collaboration between Development and Operations. The Consultant will serve as a technical expert and will also be an active team member. Attending scrum sessions, and contribute towards backlogs and task assignments to each a collectively efficient product development and deployment environment.Design and implement build, deployment, and configuration managementTest implemented designsBuild and test automation tools for infrastructure provisioningHandle code deployments in all environmentsMonitor metrics and develop ways to improveChampion the Design, Build, Deploy, Own culture….to promote the "e own what we build and deploy" mentalityAssist with test automation and ensuring quality of deployments is an integrated practice. This includes integrating security best practices into the dev/test/deploy processPromote proactive monitoring and performance tuning practices including full-stack service availability and telemetry data to support operational decisionsProvide technical guidance and educate team members and coworkers on development and operationsBrainstorm for new ideas and ways to improve deployment deliveryConsult with peers for feedback during test shapesBuild, maintain, and monitor configuration standardsMaintain day-to-day management and administration of projectsMaintain CI and CD tools with teamMeet periodically with Cloud DevOps team members to hare challenges and technology trends to ensure a uniform delivery approach across development teamsAssist with standards creation for Cloud Architecture and Deployment in conjunction with the Cloud Ops team to ensure those standards are integrated into software development processesStrive to reduce manual efforts by replacing with scalable Cloud-native automationResponsible to "cost to run" software applications in a SaaS environmentEnsure cost and efficiency for managing the deployment and ongoing operations of the application are integrated into all facets of the design and product developmentDocument and design various processes; update existing processesImprove infrastructure development and application developmentFollow all best practices procedures as established by the company Required QualificationsBachelors degree in CS, engineering, software engineering, or related field.Minimum of 10 years overall IT/Technology/Operations/Software experienceMinimum of 5 years previous experience in combining development and operations into a DevOps framework and team modelExperience with Windows and Linux infrastructures, database SQL (MS SQL), CI/CD tools, scripting such as JavaScript, PHP, Python, Perl, Ruby, .NET, Scrum/Kanban/SAFe, Agile workflow methodologiesExperience with Puppet (or Chef, Ansible, or other similar tools)Solid hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code concepts and tooling (ARM/Terraform/Cloud Formation)Up-to-date on the latest industry trends; able to articulate trends and potential clearly and confidentlyExperience in best practices with SecOps and cyber security is a strong plusExperience with Azure DevOps a plusGood interpersonal skills and communication with all levels of an organizationAble to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficientlyAbility to be on-call and work remotely as neededAbility to travel as needed (no more than 10%)
