Job Description We now have an exciting position for a Test Analyst to join Airbus Defence & Space, in either our Guildford or Newcastle upon Tyne offices. You will join our Connected Intelligence group and report to our Head of Software Development. About the role With proprietary access to the world's leading commercial satellite constellation Airbus Intelligence deliver sustainable satellite imagery and geospatial data solutions that span the entire value chain and are unrivalled in the marketplace. The applications we serve are manifold and include maritime surveillance, precision agriculture, emergency response and environmental monitoring. As world-leading experts in geo-information and defence solutions, we help decision makers to increase security, optimise mission planning, improve management of resources and protect our environment. Working within the Engineering community, you will provide expert guidance on the quality and viability of a range of exciting solutions. The IV&V (Integration, Validation & Verification) function is a critical element to the Engineering team, providing analysis and consultation skills on a huge range of technologies and real-life solutions. We work closely with solutions architects and engineers to accurately validate the requirements of a solution and verify that it is built correctly and effectively. We define tests and methods to exercise solutions under development, working smartly and rigorously to provide confidence in our products and services to our internal peers and stakeholders, our customers and the world at large. Indeed, you could be the one who discovers a critical bug in the solution, and thus helps save a project from the delay and expense caused by undiagnosed faults. You will need to be eligible to gain UK SC Security Clearance. Tasks and Responsibilities As a Test Analyst, you will be able to demonstrate and develop your interrogation, analysis and investigation skills. Your activities will be varied and deeply-absorbing, either working solo or as part of a team. This will include: liaising with users of solutions to gauge their needs and get feedback and recommendations on operational effectiveness. defining various scenarios that put the solutions through functional and non-functional tests, and executing these under controlled conditions with reliability and accuracy at all times. maintaining a library of testware, datasets, results and evidence for further analysis and reference. sharing your observations confidently with peers and others, contributing actively to solving problems and finding ways to progress understanding standards and regulatory compliance, helping to assure conformance to best-practice and provide quality governance ensuring trust on which our brand name and world-renowned reputation is built. Your role will likely involve some travel, predominantly between the Guildford and Newcastle sites. Required Skills and Experience If you answer yes to the following, then we'd love to hear from you: Possess ISTQB CTAL certificate Recognise ISO 29119 and ISTQB Glossary of Terms Demonstrate a working knowledge of JIRA or a similar ALM tool Possess strong experience of testing based on Agile methodologies Possess strong experience of testing UIs and non-UI applications Be comfortable interrogating complex databases using SQL Any experience of the following would be great testing cloud-based applications non-functional testing, e.g. performance and capacity/load Not 100% match for the role?
