What to expect

The purpose of this role is to work on the design, development, testing and introduction of new systems and components or commodities. The role will also deliver the commodity plan to quality, cost and time and lead on the technical content and integrity of specific components and systems across specific programmes

Responsible for Engineering & Delivering Wheels for either mid-cycle refresh programme and or brand-new architectures / platforms. You'll be supporting and guiding the relevant Component Engineers and have the support from the Wheels Subject Matter Expert (SME) and Group Leader (GL) in order to deliver full programme and platform content

Working closely with Design department and Dynamics this role takes components from initial conception right through to completion, ensuring all parts are delivered robustly to quality, cost and time.

You'll be working in an Agile environment and have the daily responsibility of reporting out , supporting and progressing the teams status

Key Accountabilities

* Deliver the commodity plan to quality, cost and time, including maintaining the Worldwide Engineering Release System
* Assist in the resolution of issues with component engineering and vehicle attribute teams to develop designs that meet targets
* Work in an ‘Agile' environment using the necessary toolsets (JIRA)
* Ensure all appropriate Jaguar Land Rover standards are met through-out design maturation
* Provide input into new feature development
* Ensure all programme design solutions meet:
* Programme targets for cost and weight
* Legal regulations and Requirements Management & Design Verification documentation


What you'll need

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Essential:
* A good engineering knowledge of component design and delivery - (preferably with wheels)
* A good working knowledge of product creation & delivery, change control, product definition and change management processes
* Degree qualified or equivalent experience preferred


Desirable:
* Previous experience within engineering or programme planning departments
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with strong influencing and engagement skill
