Data Engineer- Hybrid - 3 Locations - Up to £90,000My client is looking for a Data Engineer to join The Analytics & Data team to support the business to increase our capabilities in becoming a data-led organisation. Role & ResponsibilitiesYou will work as part of the team, and sometimes autonomously, to design and develop data pipelines within a Delta Lakehouse architecture.You will contribute to the design and development of the data models used for analytics and reporting.You will design and develop reports and dashboards, and self-serve datasets in Power BI.Dependent on your experience you might be asked to take a lead role in various aspects of solution delivery. If you're not quite there yet, we'll help you get there.You will engage with a variety of stakeholders, both business and technical, across the organisation to manage the delivery of current initiatives, advocate best-practice, and identify new data opportunities.You will be an advocate of data management best practices and promote data and analytics capabilities to business unit leaders, educating them on how best to leverage these capabilities to achieve their business goals.You will also contribute to both strategic and data governance initiatives to help grow the maturity of the data offering across the organisation.

Skills & QualificationsA degree in a technical, computer science, mathematical discipline, or equivalent work experience.At least three years or more of work experience in data solutions design and development including data warehouse; ETL/ELT; and data integration.Good understanding, and at least one year of solid hands-on development experience, of the Delta Lakehouse architecture and associated technologies such as Databricks, Azure Data Lake, and Azure Data Factory.Experience working with popular data discovery, analytics, and BI software tools like Power BI, Tableau, Qlik and others for semantic-layer-based data discovery.Hands-on development experience with traditional on-premise data solutions based around the SQL Server BI stack. (SQL Server; SSIS).A demonstrable passion for the space you work in. Perhaps by engaging with the wider data community through user groups or attending seminars.
