SCOM Engineer - Remote

One of our clients are looking for an experienced SCOM Engineer to join them on a contract basis.

Inside IR35

3 months initially

Mostly remote, adhoc travel may be required to various site locations

Experience:

*At least 3 years worth of experience managing a globally distributed instance of System Center Operations Manager (SCOM)

o2016, 1801, 1807 or 2019

*Proficient/competent in:

oPowerShell Scripting

oSQL Queries

*High level of experience managing/troubleshooting 2008 R2 to 2019 windows servers.

*Knowledge of:

oVMware

oHP OneView

oNetApp

oREST APIs

Day to day duties:

*Day to day administration of System Center Operations Manager.

*Tracking capacity and performance metrics of the platform to ensure a reliable service.

*Investigating event, alert, and state change spikes.

*Insuring all SCOM related servers are patch compliant.

*Investigating 'Grey' state Agents.

*Insuring 100% agent coverage throughout EDPM and SLI estates.

*Resolving communication and firewall/port issues between agents and Primary/Failover Management servers.

*Ensuring agent versions are in line with current versions.

*Be first point of contact for general alert/monitor health state queries from the business.
