DevOps Engineer London to £95k

As a DevOps Engineer, you will be joining the Data Engineering team as their first dedicated DevOps person. This team is responsible for building, operating, and maintaining data platforms and data pipelines that support the operations of the wider business. You won't be the sole DevOps within the company as you will be part of a friendly and supportive DevOps community who you will collaborate with regularly.

As a DevOps Engineer, your main responsibilities will include taking ownership of the DevOps function within the team and promoting best practises, architecting the data analytics platforms in AWS using IaC best practises, supporting the team to build cost effective, available, and scalable systems, enabling the team to perform analytic workloads at scale, practising continuous improvement within the team, and maintaining DevOps standards, identifying problems, and sharing solutions with the wider DevOps community.

The company is based in a fantastic and scenic area of London with plenty of pubs, restaurants, and shops nearby. You can work remotely up to 2 days a week in this role. Please note that you will need to be available to work on call 1 in every 6 weeks.

Requirements:

• You are an experienced DevOps Engineer who has a background in software engineering using any OO programming language (ideally Python)
• You have very good knowledge of AWS
• You have experience with the majority of the following: Linux, Terraform, Kubernetes, Helm, Kafka, Ansible
• You understand highly scalable and distributed data processing systems
• You have experience working on high availability production systems
• You have excellent communication and collaboration skills
