Are you passionate about business process improvement, the benefits it can bring a business and the value to the end user to improve the way they work?
Do you want to be involved in the technical design and implementation of lo-code process automations using the latest tools?
We are looking for Automation Engineers to work within the expanding Business Process Automation Centre of Excellence which sits in the Digital Service and Technology department.
The team's objective is to explore, develop proof of concepts and deliver automation applications with a focus on improving efficiency in end-to-end business process design; the aim of this is to reduce repetitive and manual activities, provide visibility of end-to-end processes and data to allow us to optimise business processes.
We have ambitious targets to reduce reliance on manual business processes and transition to digital delivery of many of our services. This will involve developing and using Business Process Management (BPM, IBM Business Automation Workflow) and Robotic Process Automation Toolsets to develop automation applications.
We recognise that the use of these technologies is an emerging one in government, so a strong development background in any of the automation toolsets would be ideal for this role and you'll be supported in gaining knowledge of the IBM tools.
As a role within DDaT at the ONS, we also offer benefits such as:
• Protected Learning Time of up to 10% of your weekly hours, to spend on your personal development.
• A supportive and active Community of Practice which you will be expected to contribute to, helping ensure you and your colleagues get the training, development and opportunities you need to progress your careers.
In return we offer:
