This role in the CAE CORE team will involve leading the creation, calibration and maintenance of paintshop oven models in THESEUS-FE, simulating the temperature response of new bodyshell designs and using the results to predict the thermal distortion of the body, metallic bake hardening and the curing of adhesives and paint.
Working as part of a team of CAE engineers, this role will also develop further modelling tools for CAE structural analysis supporting BODY Structures and BODY CAE Integration.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
Creation and maintenance of paintbake oven models in THESEUS-FECreation and maintenance of thermal distortion and curing bodyshell models in LSDYNA * Work with the Vehicle Structures Technical Specialist Attribute and the CAE CORE Technical Specialist
Mentor and train team members and graduatesLiaise and collaborate with material suppliers for paintbake material model development
What you'll need
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
You've got strong Virtual Engineering skills and Technical capabilities alongside a deep interest in paintbake, materials, materials manufacturing. You'll deliver truly predictive tools and techniques of known quality.
Essential:
Significant knowledge and understanding of paintbake simulation with VPSDRY and THESEUS-FESignificant knowledge and experience of working with LSDYNASignificant experience OASYS suite (PRIMER, D3PLOT & THIS) for both pre and post processing Significant experience of predicting thermal distortion of BIW using LSDYNA in explicit modeSignificant experience of predicting thermal cure of adhesives with MAT277 in LSDYNAProject management skills.
Desirable:
Basic knowledge of scripting in FAST-TCF and JAVASCRIPT to support consistent and automated pre and post-processing.
