Sustaining Engineer - Permanent Newcastle We are working with our UK based key account who have a brand new vacancy for an Sustaining Engineer to work from their office based in the Newcastle area on a Full Time, Permanent basis. Our client operate in the Medical Device industry and are a multinational manufacturer in the design and manufacture of diagnostic equipment. Sustaining Engineer Responsibilities:YOU DO NOT NEED TO HAVE MED DEV/PHARMA INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE. YOU WILL BE GIVEN FULL, INTERNAL TRAINING. This is a desirable skill set, not essential.The hiring manager is looking for who is mechanically biased and someone who is electrically biased (electrical and mechanical engineers).You will create the strategy for the verification/validation of the new designs and participate in verification/validation activities.Typical day/week - in most cases you would be analysing data from the production floor and identify what the biggest challenges of the day are.You will perhaps look at assembly problems, see if there's a poor yield, or poor quality at the line, looking at the breakdown of the products. Look at applying six sigma methodologies and going through these process.40%/50% of the workload will be problem solving and identifying how to make some kind of optimisation/improvement.Other part of the work is implementing this - drawing, prototyping, working directly with contract manufactures with engineers.
