About Shelter

A home is a fundamental human need, as essential as education or healthcare. Yet millions of people across Britain struggle on a daily basis with homelessness, bad housing conditions, soaring rents, discrimination and the threat of eviction. So, we are striving for change, with individuals, in communities, across society, and leading the way to a safe home. We need ambitious, best-in-class individuals who are passionate about our cause to join us at this exciting time. This is your chance to play a part in the fundamental change we are striving to achieve. At Shelter we are united by our purpose to defend the right to a safe home. Our enemy is the social injustice at the core of the escalating housing emergency. We believe that to win that fight, we must be representative of the people we are here to help and those who support our movement for change. In all our people decisions, we take pride in being inclusive, fair, equitable and transparent. We have committed to combat racism both within and outside Shelter and welcome you on our journey to becoming a truly anti-racist organisation. About the team Shelter's digital team plays a key role within the charity by producing exciting service design work that affects our advice services, campaigns and fundraising. Very much digital and creative leaders, they collaborate across the organisation to deliver first-class design, content, products and services in an agile, iterative and data-driven manner. Collectively, they set the example for Shelter in digital best practice, discovery and innovation. And, right now, they need someone like you on board. About the role
Our product professionals are focused on three key areas - marketing content for supporter-focused products like fundraising events, e-commerce and change campaigns, digital service delivery for those that come to Shelter for help and digital platform development, including the publishing workflow. Your challenge will be to play a core part in realising our vision of meeting our goals in all three. As well as leading a team of product managers, we'll also rely on you to provide product leadership and consultancy to the wider organisation and supporter-facing teams. Building effective relationships with a range of internal and external partners will be important too. And, when it comes to developing and owning a portfolio of roadmaps, contributing to digital product strategies or shaping and implementing best practice, again, we'll count on you. We are happy to talk about flexible working, personal growth, and to promote a workplace where you can be yourself and achieve success based only on your merit. About you
To succeed, you'll need the ability to inspire team members, recognise their strengths and challenge them to develop new skills when the need arises. Indeed, a focus on supporting and empowering colleagues and honouring the values and spirit of agile methodologies in all you do will be key to your success. You'll also need to be used to liaising with other disciplines - including developers, content designers, user researchers and UX designers - to facilitate clear communications across teams and leads alike. Adept at implementing Lean and Agile methodologies, working with teams at various stages of maturity, iterating on your practices and innovating to adapt to the capabilities of individual teams is second nature to you. What's more, you enjoy building strong professional relationships at all levels - from senior leadership, to stakeholders, technical specialists and team members - and bringing people together to clarify goals and deliver excellent outcomes. Benefits
We offer a wide range of benefits, including 30 days of annual leave, enhanced family friendly policies, pension and interest free travel loans. Our employees also have access to a tenancy deposit loan, payroll giving, cycle to work scheme and an employee assistance programme. Shelter helps millions of people every year struggling with bad housing or homelessness through our advice, support and legal services. And we campaign to make sure that, one day, no one will have to turn to us for help. We're here so no one has to fight bad housing or homelessness on their own.
