Job Description Deputy General Manager Business Development
Our Client is a Global organisation with multiple businesses.
They are looking to recruit a Deputy General Manager with Business Development expertise with at least 7 to 10years experience of developing business in Automotive, Railway or Construction Machinery.
This role is to primarily develop new business within the Automotive, Railway and Construction Machinery Project Department ("Mobility Business Dept. I") and support General Manager.
The role will also involve managing and guiding other members of staff accordingly. Key Responsibilities:
Grasp the market trend, government policy and competitors/players (candidate of the partner) movement in the area of green and new mobility services ("RRGreen/New Mobility Service area), such as integration of railway and automotive, delivering door to door mobility service, leveraging IT technology, to comply with the varied passenger's requirement
Determine and seek business opportunities in Green/New Mobility Service area (including subordinated/ancillary services thereto)
Identify and create/develop new business in Green/New Mobility Service area (including subordinated/ancillary services thereto)
Manage and sustain relationships with key stakeholders within the Green/New Mobility Service area (including subordinated/ancillary services thereto) in worldwide regions, especially in UK and Europe
Identify and develop new business within the department as well as actively encouraging collaborative business with other related departments, such as Project Dept., Energy Dept., Chemical Dept. in Europe, but not limited to.
Assist and support General Manager of Mobility Business Dept. I, including creating of financial planning of the department, team task allocation and management and monthly activity reports as well as assistance of drawing business plan/budget of the department
Develop a positive team spirit and to support/teach junior members of the team.
Self-improvement as well as well set an example of others and mentor others on the importance of attention to detail and facilitate others to generate and solve problems
Be aware of Company HQ vision, strategy, targets, numbers and objectives in order to achieve same goals
Comprehend the IT knowledge, basic technical aspects of asset finance, corporate finance and project finance Relationships:
Internal stakeholders, customers, suppliers and Company Subsidiaries
Mobility Business Dept. I and all other related business departments
HQ Business Teams (Passenger Transportation Business Div. and else) Skills / Knowledge:
- Fundamental knowledge of project management principles
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing in English - and ideally if you have Japanese language skills.
- Ideally understanding of Japanese and European business cultures
- Knowledge of fundamental contract management
- Numeracy and the ability to develop an analytical approach to solving problems
- Effective presentation and negotiation skills
- Educated up to degree level and possible professional or post-graduate qualifications

The Client is based in St Pauls London.
Salary for this role will be in the range £70K - £80K plus Benefits.
