The Role:
Oxford High School is looking for a dynamic and experienced IT Manager to lead the IT Services Department at Oxford High School.
Working closely with the Girls' Day School Trust, the IT Manager is responsible for the strategic development of IT as well as the delivery and maintenance of existing services and systems.
Crucial to this role is an understanding that you will be here to support teaching and learning through the provision of ICT services and support - and you will be excited to play a leading role in the development of hardware and software provision for teaching and learning.
The role will involve face-to-face and written communication with both staff and students across the school and therefore good English is essential. You will be skilled at troubleshooting all aspects of ICT, and effective in prioritisation and delegation.
The Department:
The IT Manager will line manage a team of three IT Technicians, based in the IT Office in the Senior School and provide operational support across all three sites from Pre-Prep to Sixth Form. The IT Manager is responsible to the Assistant Head Curriculum who has oversight of student data, including the Management Information System (SIMS).
The school has approximately 1200 users and over 1000 computers: a mixture of Windows devices, Macs, Chromebooks, and iPads. We support BYOD as well as loaning Chromebooks to pupils. The Windows devices run on Windows 10 and we subscribe to both Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace. Google Drive is our primary storage location and have one physical server. Cisco Wifi is provided throughout the school. As part of the Girls' Day School Trust we are supported by the Central ICT Team based at the Trust offices in London. They provide central services such as internet, WAN connection, WiFi provision, Unified Communications, remote access and technical support relating to these services.
