If so, then please see below… Lead Mechanical Design Engineer Wolverhampton £55k Progressive and a European Engineering Innovator in Mechanical Engineering for the Nuclear Industry are looking to recruit a Lead Mechanical Design Engineer for their Head Office in Wolverhampton, owing to significant business growth and project pipeline for 2023+. Based in Wolverhampton and reporting into the Head of Engineering, the Lead Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for:Delivery of Mechanical Design packages of specific elements or the entire scope of projects, dependent on size / complexity of the work scope.Delivery of technically compliant design deliverables in accordance with the Design Input Requirements within budget and programme constraints.Capable of leading a team of Mechanical Engineers and designers to deliver the appropriate solution from Front End Engineering to Detailed Design production.Provide Engineering Support to manufacture right through to client handover Specifically, the Lead Mechanical Design Engineer will: Interpretation of Design Inputs into fit for purpose solutions.Definition of scope and verification of fit for purpose design deliverablesManage delivery in accordance with allocated budgeted cost and timescalesDay to day management of the engineering team (up to 10 personnel)Ensure Designs and products comply with relevant legislation.Expected to undertake the Nominated Engineer (per project) company role to set and manage the strategy, direction, and ownership of projects, as required.Actively works to Develops the capability of the unit and its staff.Establishes and manages appropriate supply chain capability.Development of value-add strategy and production of technical estimates and tender proposals. Qualification & Experience Required for Lead Mechanical Design Engineer role: Previous Mechanical Design Experience (as a Mechanical Design Engineer, Senior Mechanical Design Engineer etc)Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similarPrevious experience of design using 3D CAD Design software packagesPrior experience of using FEA Analysis Software and conduct Mechanical Engineering Calculations to validate designs (such as stress & structural calculations, stress of components etc).Experience of Concept Design through to Manufacturing Documentation Production, Verification via testing and installation design activities.Conversant with British and European Technical and Legislative standards For the successful Lead Mechanical Design Engineer, a salary up to £55,000 & package is on offer and this Lead Mechanical Design Engineer role is commutable from Wolverhampton, West Brom, Birmingham, Telford, Cannock, Stafford, Stourbridge & Dudley.
