Business Analysts at DIT draw upon multiple forms of data to shape, define, document, and analyse challenging business problems and user needs. They're required to map how these user and organisational needs align with the business architecture and ensure alignment with the service vision and business strategy. Within DIT DDaT, we encourage our Business Analyst to challenge constructively and act as a critical friend to achieve solutions that are fit for purpose while facilitating collaboration and leading effective communication with all stakeholders to support the design, build and delivery of products and services that meet the user needs. We're looking for Business Analysts to support our Digital, Data and Technology products and services in line with the department's priorities of facilitating trade, promoting investment and export, and the wider agenda for a Global Britain. Business Analysts work across a portfolio of products, helping their teams to deliver in line with the strategy and in sync with one another. As a Business Analyst, you will be ... Working with several teams across multiple complex, fast-moving, and innovative projects. Your role will be to make sure product decisions are based on a sound business analysis by working closely with service owners as well as product and delivery teams. You will also support the Head of Profession to build a sustainable, diverse, and engaged Business Analyst community within DIT who work together towards a common goal and share ideas openly, establishing standards and consistency to support rapid delivery through sharing and learning from one another.   Responsibilities As a Business Analyst you will... Analyse business requirements and user needs related to all aspects of the service you are supporting. Work with the relevant Product Manager and Delivery Manager to assess how they should inform the team's activities. Support business process re-engineering where applicable and write and edit the relevant documentation. Articulate business and user problems, identifying opportunities and ways to address these problems. Apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to ensure that the team's plans and objectives are achieved.   Essential Skills and Experience: You'll have demonstrable skills and experience of: Agile Working Skills: You implement agile methodology to your work. Business Analysis: You're able to conduct business analysis to investigate problems and analyse options for new and existing services by selecting the most appropriate methods and tools. You also know how to define and report on test conditions to identify issues and risks associated with work. You can also report on system quality and collect metrics on test cases. Requirement's Definition & Management: You know how to source requirements and can facilitate the setting of business priorities for change initiatives of medium complexity. Stakeholder Management: You know how to communicate with important stakeholders and users to build relationships, capture and define their requirements, using evidence to explain decisions made and use quantitative and qualitative data to turn their focus into outcomes. Process Management: You can model more advanced and complex situations across more than one business function or programme and can communicate the results to others. You understand and can apply the current target operating model to work. You know how to analyse current processes and can identify and implement opportunities to optimise these. Ways of Working: You're innovative and apply a digital understanding to your work. You can implement solutions for assisted digital.
