Historic Environment Scotland (HES) is seeking candidates to manage the support function of the Networks team within the IT department. As the Network & Security Manager within HES, you will act as second line escalation for all network and security related faults and be responsible for ensuring that all SLAs are met in relation to customer faults.

If you are someone who has experience in configuring network switches, routers and firewalls from the command line, and can demonstrate a clear understanding of network and security topologies, then this could be a fantastic opportunity for you.

About the role

HES is a unique organisation with a broad range of functions. We are a ‘Non-department Public Body' (NDPB) with charitable status, as well as operating as a national commercial business within the tourism sector. As our Network & Security Manager, you will be responsible for the management the Network & Security team and their activities within the IT department. You will also work closely with other managers in service operations and our internal project managers and solutions architects on the design and implementation of new solutions.

About you

To be successful, you will have basic knowledge of telecommunications and methods of delivering connectivity, and ideally you will also have experience in network monitoring tools and network problem solving. Due to the requirement to travel to our sites across the length of Scotland will equipment and hardware, we will also require you to hold a valid UK drivers' licence.

You will have an industry recognised certification in networking or comparable experience.
