The Chief Information and Digital Office (CIDO) has over 600 employees and a vast range of key suppliers. We are responsible for all the change within the Society (c£75m/annum) and the running and management of the IT estate.
Within CIDO we are in the early stages of an exciting journey flipping our delivery model to a new product based one, utilising Agile methodologies based on SAFe. We are now actively recruiting into some key roles to help us transition through this journey.
What You'll Be Doing Why should you come and work in IT Development?

We want you to help us make our evolution a success so in this role you'll be: Designing and developing quality software solutions Challenging and improving our processes, tools and approach Sharing your expertise Supporting our solutions, occasionally out of hours About You For this role you'll need: Demonstrable knowledge of and related experience within software development environment Knowledge of Java/JVM based development practices A clear understanding of and ability to explain the fundamentals of Java development, along with good overall engineering patterns and practises Demonstrable experience and understanding of working in teams Working in Agile environments, preferably SCRUM Code and version control using GitHub or equivalent Automated testing techniques and testing frameworks What would be nice to have, but isn't essential: Continuous integration/deployment Test driven development and/or behavior driven development Database development using Microsoft SQL or Oracle PL/SQL Understanding of Cloud Technologies, preferably AWS Requirements:
Software development experience in a commercial environment
