A British outsourcing organisation with bases throughout the UK, Continental Europe, the Middle East, Asia Pacific and North America. Our client specialises in 5 key sectors: Defence, Justice and Immigration, Transport, Health and Citizen services

On behalf of this organisation, AMS are looking for a Senior IT Solutions Architect for a 6 Month contract based in remotely.

Purpose of the Role:

Our client needs to mobilise all the IT in the prison (Architecture, Wi-Fi, LAN). Largest piece is development of APIs and integrating this with a lot of systems, so our client require someone who can lead/design those interfaces.

As a Senior IT Solutions Architect you will be responsible for:

• Provide architectural guidance and design leadership to the Technical Delivery team to ensure delivery is in line with the design
• Develop comprehensive and accurate cost models for solutions, ensuring the design is within the cost envelope and meets the business needs
• Provide delivery execution support to the delivery team, supporting the change control process throughout the project / work package
• Review the proposal of vendors and suppliers to ensure that quality inputs are deliverable and aligned to Sector Roadmaps and compliant with standard services
• Ensure that standard components are used wherever possible in the architecture of solutions
• Effective and innovative use of partners, best practice and internal skills and delivery capabilities
• Ensure the solution complies with security standards and requirements
• Ensure solutions are sized appropriately to meet non-functional requirements

What we require from the candidate:

• The IT Senior Solutions Architect will have expertise in specific IT areas, skills compatible to covering Government outsourced opportunities and practical experience of their business requirements, whilst maintaining a knowledge of current and emerging IT technologies
• Understanding of modern IT Infrastructure, applications and Cloud based technologies
• Will have up-to-date technologies exposure
• Will need to identify technical issues and design solutions to fix them, gathering and assimilating information.
• Ability to build from good relationships with clients/operational managers and colleagues
• Understanding of application architecture
