The role

We believe the current mass offering for data science training is too theoretical and lacks pragmatism. We are building a school of data science that teaches students commercial and practical hands-on data science skills and business acumen to maximise their employability.  This will create data scientists for many organisations who are ready for their job on day one.

We currently offer a range of programmes that can take up to 3 years to complete or might take a matter of days. We are building a team of expert data scientists and brilliant learning designers to collaborate and build market-leading digital content.

What you'll be doing

• Design and produce key elements of the curriculum, including hands-on exercises, and practice activities students may need
• Complete case studies to demonstrate data science skills in real-world contexts
• Develop contextualised practical assignments using a variety of tools (Python, SQL, Power BI, Alteryx, Azure Cognitive Services etc.)
• Partner with learning designers and produce engaging content leveraging a variety of formats/media (Q&A, videos, interviews, animations, quizzes)
• Set up and collaborate with a network of curriculum contributors
• Embed analytics in the student journey to track student progress and iteratively improve content and curriculums
• Continued research into latest commercial data science applications and create new and engaging learning materials

We are looking for a data scientist who loves learning, discovering, and finding practical real-world solutions using data science.

We are looking for:

• A data scientist with a problem-first mentality and a keen eye for adapting their data skills based on the business context
• Proven experience applying data science in commercial environments
• An exceptional communicator - both written and oral
• Passion for teaching, learning, and understanding how people think
• Familiarity with a range of data science tools and platforms

Proactivity, an individual willing to challenge the status quo

The following skills and experience are desirable:

• Teaching experience or previous experience developing Data Science content
• Experience developing and mentoring other data scientists
• Experience driving organisational change towards data-driven decision-making
• Knowledge and understanding of assessment strategies
• Experience working with Python, Jupyter, Git, MS SQL, Power BI, Tableau, Alteryx, Azure Cognitive Services
• Data engineering or software development experience
