Optical Engineer - Permanent Newcastle We are working with our UK based key account who have a brand new vacancy for an Optical Engineer to work from their office based in the Newcastle area on a Full Time, Permanent basis. Our client operate in the Medical Device industry and are a multinational manufacturer in the design and manufacture of diagnostic equipment. Optical Engineer Responsibilities:You do not need to have med dev/pharma industry experience. You will be given full, internal training. This is a desirable skill set, not essential.You will develop and design cutting edge optical detectors, including Source, qualify and drive appropriate suppliers for optics development and delivery for mass production and R&D.The successful candidate is responsible for reviewing existing product design, identifying weaknesses, proposing, implementing and monitoring the effectiveness of improvements. Focused on meeting customer expectations for cost, quality and delivery.

Optical Engineer Requirements: BSC in Physics, Optics, Electrical Engineering or related field.3+ years experience working in the industry of optical sensing and camera technology.Fundamental understanding of optical testing and optical technology, including building hardware for R&D and production in volume.Experience working with statistical analysis, data visualization and measurement system analysis tools such as Matlab, JMP and Python.Experience working with optical designing tool such Zemax, CodeV and/or VirtualLab Are you the Optical Engineer we have been looking for?
