Backend Software Engineer London / WfH to £130k

Backend Software Engineer / Developer (C# .Net Core Data Cloud PhD) *Hybrid WFH*. Are you a well educated, data savvy Backend Software Engineer seeking a role where you can work on complex and challenging systems using the latest tech whilst continually learning and progressing your career?

You could be joining a specialist Hedge Fund to deliver a long term strategic project to re-engineer the data analytics platform using modern technologies such as .Net Core, Azure, microservices and distributed systems engineering.

As a Backend Software Engineer you will work across internal trading, data, pricing and risk systems as they move from a monolith architecture to SOA / microservices; create tools for Analysts and create applications for data cleansing and analysis. There's Greenfield projects to get involved with - you'll be continually learning and progressing your career.

Following a remote interview / onboarding process you'll join colleagues in the North London office two days a week, with the other three work from home; you'll be working with a small group of accomplished software / data engineers and finance entrepreneurs.

Requirements:

You're degree educated in Mathematics, Physics or Computer Science; 2.1 or above from a top tier university; likely to have studied at MSc / PhD level

You have strong C# .Net backend development skills including .Net Core

You have a good working knowledge and experience with microservices, distributed systems engineering, Cloud infrastructure (Azure preferred but AWS or Azure also fine)

You have a good understanding of data engineering, SQL / NoSQL and / or systems design

You're collaborative and pragmatic with excellent communication skills
