The Role

We are looking for an experienced software engineer to join the Product Innovation and Ideation (PI&I) technology department to lead a team of between 2 to 6 developers. You will report into the PI&I Engineering Manager and be a key member of the technical leadership team.

The PI&I technology team is responsible for developing new innovations into existing platforms and products, backend AI learning models, new standalone product ideas, proof of concepts to be taken to business approval and much more. As with everything we build we strive to develop products and systems which enable our users to learn better and faster.

In this role you will play a key part in the development, standardisation and productionisation of products and ideas. Working in an agile environment and alongside solutions engineers, scrum masters, delivery managers, products owners, UX/UI as well as all other departments within English Technology.

About you

You will be familiar with the technologies we use (see job description) and have a willingness to learn, try new things and push your skills to bring the most benefit to the team.

Experience with line management and a qualification in a computer science or mathematics subject is desirable but not essential.

You will be joining an extremely diverse group of open minded people, you will bring your own unique ideas and ways of solving problems to this team that will make it stronger and more productive in future.

You should be open to and enjoy working in the most agile way possible with people from all over the globe.
