We are now looking for a Cloud System Architect to join Airbus Defence and Space in either our Newcastle or Guildford offices. You will join the UK Intelligence team and report to our Head of Geospatial & Data Intelligence.This role-holder will provide technical architecture leadership to support the delivery of state of the art cloud solutions to our Airbus Intelligence UK programme. They will be tasked with designing and developing complex systems for geo-spatial projects using in-house and cloud infrastructure.As world-leading experts in geo-information and defence solutions, we help decision makers to increase security, optimise mission planning, improve management of resources and protect our environment. Tasks & AccountabilitiesParticipating and contributing to the organisational capabilities, products and services portfolio design and developmentCapturing and analysing stakeholder needs, defining architectural solutions to meet and exceed customer needsActing as a visionary and proactively assisting in defining the direction for future IT Products & Services, validating product designsDesigning and modelling functionality and physical systemsLeading the technical architecture, integration and potential deployment of the solution and the related IT infrastructureEnsuring solution and operations reliability in liaison with our Service Management TeamThis role will involve some travel for business and as such you must be able to travel accordingly.
Skills & ExperienceUnderstanding of Model-based systems engineering (MBSE) from concept through to detailed design and knowledge and experience of common architecture framework (TOGAF, NAF, etc)A solid foundation of cloud computing - including an understanding of cloud technology, cloud architecture coupled with the ability to design, develop, and manage robust, secure, scalable, highly available, dynamic solutions and services hosted in the cloudCommercial experience of having worked with and building solutions for multiple customers/stakeholdersProficient and confident with oral and written communicationExperience and knowledge of IT security and a good understanding of "security by design" and "privacy by design"It would also be great if you have some experience with either INCOSE System Engineering (CSEP certification or equivalent), AWS, RedHat OpenShift technologies, microservices or Service Oriented Architecture (SOA)
