Junior Network Design Engineer / Architect London / WfH to £45k

Junior Network Design Engineer / Architect (Fortinet OSI TCP/IP STP VLAN) *Hybrid WfH*. Are you a Network Engineer looking to progress to a design / architecture based role?

You could be joining a successful and growing software house and working in an open, collaborative environment where learning and personal development are key and there's a strong pipeline of Greenfield projects.

As a Junior Network Design Engineer / Architect you will receive training on how to provide detailed infrastructure designs for both internal and external customers; you'll learn how to break down customer requirements and produce technical documentation using architectural best practice. You'll present complex designs to a range of audiences and communicate with several areas of the business as well as client contacts.

Driven by technology the company can offer a remote interview and onboarding process as well as the ability to work from home; the office in Central London is now open and they'd like you to go in once a week on Wednesdays. When you are in the office you can enjoy a friendly team environment that encourages knowledge sharing, close collaboration and regular company wide hack-a-thons; you'll have time dedicated every Friday afternoon to exploring your own technology interests. 

Requirements:

You have strong experience in a Network Engineer / Administration role

You have a good knowledge of core infrastructure technologies such as hardware for routers and switches (HPE preferred); hardware knowledge of firewalls and security systems (Fortinet ideally); Virtualisation experience (VMWare preferred)

You have a good knowledge of Ethernet switching protocols such as STP and VLAN and IP services such as ARP, DNS, DHCP, NTP

You have excellent written and verbal communication skills, are collaborative and pragmatic with the aptitude and desire to learn and progress your career as a Network Design Engineer / Architect
