Opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer to join an exciting, innovative company where you will play a pivotal role in developing the product range whilst being regarded as the technical specialist within a highly skilled team.

This fast growing, exciting company have designed and developed a patent-protected, specialist product that is on track to revolutionise the way buildings are cooled and heated. They aim to reduce energy consumption and carbon emissions and lead positive change within the HVAC industry. Significant sales growth is planned for the next five years targeting commercial, residential and high-precision environments.

On offer is a Mechanical Engineer position where you will be involved in supporting the technical team to help evolve and develop the product range offered to customers. This involves researching and collecting supporting marketing data on a wide variety of performance requirements and applications, liaising with component suppliers and the OEM provider to make sure the products are developed according to the market requirements. Designing and delivering supporting documentation to help the sales team communicate the benefits including energy modelling, optimum zone configurations and so on.

This position would suit an individual who has experience working within the Mechanical Building Services/ HVAC industry or similar with a knowledge of different BMS platforms and have a desire to move into a Technical product development role. The ideal candidate will have a desire to join an exciting, innovative company and the ability to play a key role in our continued growth.

The role:

• In depth market need - data gathering and analysis for each of the target application audience groups
• Providing Technical support and expert knowledge through the exploration, conception, design and proofing stages of product development
• Research components and their suppliers for their fit to the new product briefs
• Responsible for technical documentation to support the sales team including specifications, distilled test reports, new release notes etc.
• Keep a handle on the regulatory drivers and best practice guidance across the UK and Europe
• Support the sales team during project conversations with architects and mechanical consultants to help with selections, layouts, and BMS integration design
• £55,000- £60,000 + Holiday + Pension + Benefits

• Must have experience/ knowledge of HVAC products and their applications

• Live local or willing to commute to Edinburgh
