In particular, to provide technical leadership in developing and implementing IT systems to support solutions to secure new customers and provide competitive differentiation. In addition, the IT Manager will provide expertise in the introduction of new technology as well as ensuring the resilience and security of systems and infrastructure.Duties include:Provide technology leadership and support to the SYNLAB Drug & Alcohol business.Oversight of the IT team, including agreeing on personal development, objectives and managing performanceIT leadership for the implementation of new systems and applicationsWork with fellow business unit IT leaders and CIO on cross-SYNLAB IT initiativesWork with business development and Sales and Marketing colleagues to provide IT solutions for customersProvide expertise to support the business on core applications, including LIMSOversee IT infrastructure, including telecommunications, and disaster recovery capabilityProvision of IT service management in collaboration with the CIO and other SYNLAB IT colleagues to ensure service levels are established and metManage Drug and Alcohol IT budget (OPEX and CAPEX) Essential Skills and Experience:Degree educatedSignificant experience at IT management levelExperience of team leadership and developmentExperience of LIMSExperience of desktop/ office applications, especially Office 365Experience of having proactively driven IT service improvementsIT service management experienceExperience with Microsoft Server and SQL ServerExperience of managing external service providersAble to work proactively and plan, organise and manage own workloadProject management and influencing skills in addition to personal drive and results orientationStrong communication skills and able to deal professionally with people at all levelsMust be flexible in approach to the work as priorities changeAbility to work well as part of a teamConfident and personable with strong emotional intelligenceA fast learner with excellent attention to detailStrong understanding of GDPR and Data Protection legislationExperience and familiarity with cyber security controlsExcellent timekeeping, reliability and adaptabilityCan-do attitudeDesirable (not essential):ITIL qualificationProject management certificationExperience in a pathology businessPlease note that we reserve the right to close any adverts once we have received a sufficient number of applications.
